In October 2017, Brent and Mark had the honor of bringing Megan from North Carolina to Specimen Creek Outfitters. It didn’t take long for everyone in camp to fall in love with her warm spirit and contagious smile. Megan was truly an inspiration to all who had the privilege of meeting her. Despite facing some of life’s toughest battles, she approached every challenge with remarkable grace, a radiant smile, and a genuine concern for others.

Megan’s journey began at the age of 10 when she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in 2012. At just 15 years old, she faced another devastating diagnosis: terminal brain cancer known as Glioblastoma. Yet, through it all, Megan’s strength and courage touched countless lives.

On May 16, 2020, Megan received her ultimate healing as she peacefully entered her heavenly home. Her legacy of resilience, love, and compassion continues to inspire everyone who knew her.

Megan’s family established The Live Like Megan Foundation as a way to honor her incredible legacy and spread her message of hope and resilience. The foundation’s mission is to provide Hope, Education, and Opportunity to children facing life-altering circumstances. Its efforts focus on enriching the lives of these children in meaningful ways, offering not only practical resources but also unforgettable experiences.

The foundation supports a wide range of activities, including outdoor adventures like kayaking, hiking, hunting, and fishing trips, which allow children to connect with nature and find moments of joy and peace. Additionally, it provides access to essential resources such as clothing, furniture, and food for families in need. To make children feel celebrated and loved, the foundation organizes special events like birthday parties and room makeovers tailored to each child’s interests and dreams.

Beyond these experiences, the foundation emphasizes the importance of education and empowerment, offering tools and support to teach independence, life skills, and safety. Through these efforts, The Live Like Megan Foundation not only carries on Megan’s legacy but also ensures that her spirit continues to inspire hope and bring light to those navigating difficult journeys.
